  1. I wanted to say thanks to everyone involved in this thread. The information here and the combined efforts towards trial and error testing from all you fine folks was incredibly helpful for me. Here's hoping some RDR2 modding genius comes along and solves this annoying issue for good. Cheers lads
  2. Yeah playing at anything above 60 always caused funkiness for me. I have pretty much always kept it locked to 60fps Ultra at 1080p (max screen resolution). I basically just scrapped my whole install and started over from scratch and completely excluded any online content and streaming/replacing mods with a ton of .ytd's and it seems to be totally fine now. I'll post a list of what I have installed right now. I haven't done extensive testing so I don't want anyone to take this as a "it definitely works with no issues" but 8 hours of fresh gameplay starting from a clean chapter 2 save and I haven't had any issues. I have chickens, "flamingos" (pink spoonbills lol xD), carriages with passengers and of course trolleys and trains both with multiple peds on board.
  3. Oh yes I’d say it’s possible. I had almost every single mod or at least very similar ones to the problematic mods listed in this thread. I’d also like to contribute Munitions to the list of issue causers because that was a bad one for me. But I also had Whyem’s DLC on this save (uncompressed obviously) as well as a bunch of other weapon .ytd’s and Arthur/John .ytd’s. That’s essentially what I was asking, whether or not a “bricked“ save could potentially be behind my train spawning issues. Or rather how likely it is to be the true culprit. Because I also don’t fully understand the details of “spawn priority.” Basically I’m trying to deduce the likelihood that I still just simply have too much stress on the engine, or if I have found a pretty solid mod list to work with and it’s just the fact that my save is all gunked up with a bunch of poorly optimized mod “residue” for lack of a better word. Also, I’m in chapter 3 if that helps at all. I’ve played a little since I made this post and when I was having the issue (I still am) I had the tobacco burning mission, the Braithwaite horses mission, and the Trelawney bounty hunter mission on my map. Dunno if any of those eff around with train spawns. Thanks for the reply my friend! also: the pc I’m playing on isn’t low end but it is a laptop. I’m definitely not on an ultra fast crazy machine. I believe it’s a 3070 mobile (duh) and an intel i9 something something. It’s not terrible or anything, I bought it in 2021 for around $1800. I know, I know I should have built a pc for that much lol. Just was traveling a ton at the time and needed something I could take with me! 🤠
  4. Sorry if I’m asking stupid questions I am pretty green when it comes to the technical aspects of modding. I understand enough to fix minor issues, identify/avoid file conflicts and I understand the broad concepts that you all are discussing here but after trying to read all 29 pages of this thread I’m still a bit confused. 1. Is it fairly certain among you fine gents that the issue is NOT fixed by replacing instead of streaming? I saw someone comment towards the end of this thread that this method fixed his spawning issues and then another claim that the streaming vs. replacement method was misinformation and did not fix the problem 100% of the time, although it may have helped some users in certain cases? 2. Is it considered “confirmed” with certainty that the issue is definitely caused by improper compression of .ytd files? 3. If the answer to 2 is yes, will this mod fix the spawning issues caused by 1899 Firearms/Firearm Cosmetics? https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5552 Lastly, I think I have achieved a “mostly stable” game with my current mods. I have a handful of light .asi mods, and a very small lml folder with absolutely no textures (.ytd’s) other than “properly” compressed ones via the mod I linked above. I have peds on summoned fast travel spawned trains, peds on trolleys, multiple passengers in carriages, I have the pink spoonbills, I have chickens in Valentine, and I haven’t noticed any serious lack of random encounters… but the TRAINS DAMMIT. The trains are STILL not showing up. I have the Railroad Engineer mod installed for the map blips, and every time I load into my save, if I’m near a train blip, it shows up. And there IS peds on it. There are usually about 5-6 passengers per car. But after that I can’t manage to come across one in the open world unless I pay for fast travel - then I can follow it for a while obviously. I’m assuming if that’s the case, then I still have a spawn problem right? Because I also saw someone say not to use trains as a spawn metric due to the fact that they are extremely unreliable and inconsistent. Any input would be greatly appreciated, and again sorry for any repeat questions. PS: Not sure if I missed this somewhere, but since I have what I would consider a “fairly stable” game configuration, with my current mods and graphical settings, but am still having issues with train spawns; might it be worthwhile to do a complete uninstall/reinstall and attempt to load into a fresh unmodded save with my current mod configuration? Or perhaps uninstall/reinstall all the mods from scratch? Or both? Ihaven’t tried that. I didn’t want to lose my game or waste the time if there was no chance that it was the save file still plaguing me. Thanks again, fellers. 🤠 PS Again: I totally forgot, I also have a handful of folders installed from this mod as well. This and the WHM Firearms Cosmetics Compressed are the only .ytd files contained in my lml folder. https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5580
