Expand Well, I myself haven't been using TTO extensively but in the brief 30m test that I did of 2.0 there were no issues with trolley spawns or any other spawns in general. Since our testing methods are not very developed as far as I can tell it should be fine, but in all honesty I just dont know. I won't be using TTO personally but just because I don't really care about the higher texture resolution but that is a completely subjective opinion. Quote
GregPopaperc 1 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Sorry if I’m asking stupid questions I am pretty green when it comes to the technical aspects of modding. I understand enough to fix minor issues, identify/avoid file conflicts and I understand the broad concepts that you all are discussing here but after trying to read all 29 pages of this thread I’m still a bit confused. 1. Is it fairly certain among you fine gents that the issue is NOT fixed by replacing instead of streaming? I saw someone comment towards the end of this thread that this method fixed his spawning issues and then another claim that the streaming vs. replacement method was misinformation and did not fix the problem 100% of the time, although it may have helped some users in certain cases? 2. Is it considered “confirmed” with certainty that the issue is definitely caused by improper compression of .ytd files? 3. If the answer to 2 is yes, will this mod fix the spawning issues caused by 1899 Firearms/Firearm Cosmetics? https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5552 Lastly, I think I have achieved a “mostly stable” game with my current mods. I have a handful of light .asi mods, and a very small lml folder with absolutely no textures (.ytd’s) other than “properly” compressed ones via the mod I linked above. I have peds on summoned fast travel spawned trains, peds on trolleys, multiple passengers in carriages, I have the pink spoonbills, I have chickens in Valentine, and I haven’t noticed any serious lack of random encounters… but the TRAINS DAMMIT. The trains are STILL not showing up. I have the Railroad Engineer mod installed for the map blips, and every time I load into my save, if I’m near a train blip, it shows up. And there IS peds on it. There are usually about 5-6 passengers per car. But after that I can’t manage to come across one in the open world unless I pay for fast travel - then I can follow it for a while obviously. I’m assuming if that’s the case, then I still have a spawn problem right? Because I also saw someone say not to use trains as a spawn metric due to the fact that they are extremely unreliable and inconsistent. Any input would be greatly appreciated, and again sorry for any repeat questions. PS: Not sure if I missed this somewhere, but since I have what I would consider a “fairly stable” game configuration, with my current mods and graphical settings, but am still having issues with train spawns; might it be worthwhile to do a complete uninstall/reinstall and attempt to load into a fresh unmodded save with my current mod configuration? Or perhaps uninstall/reinstall all the mods from scratch? Or both? Ihaven’t tried that. I didn’t want to lose my game or waste the time if there was no chance that it was the save file still plaguing me. Thanks again, fellers. 🤠 PS Again: I totally forgot, I also have a handful of folders installed from this mod as well. This and the WHM Firearms Cosmetics Compressed are the only .ytd files contained in my lml folder. https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/5580 Edited January 27 by GregPopaperc Quote

Skinnypotbelly 4 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Hi has anyone gotten the file replacement method to work for files location the the mp00x archives? Using the filepaths listed here, I can't seem to get any of the files located in the mp00x archives to load. For example <GamePath>dlc_mp005:/x64/anim/ingame/clip_mech_loco_m/mech_loco_m@type@mp@easy_rider@idle.ycd</GamePath> This is the gamepath listed in OpenIV D:\Program Files\Epic Games\RedDeadRedemption2\x64\dlcpacks\mp005\dlc.rpf\x64\anim\ingame\clip_mech_loco_m.rpf\mech_loco_m@type@mp@easy_rider@idle.ycd Shows the same located in CodeX D:\Program Files\Epic Games\RedDeadRedemption2\x64\dlcpacks\mp005\dlc.rpf\x64\anim\ingame\clip_mech_loco_m.rpf\mech_loco_m@type@mp@easy_rider@idle.ycd My vfs log does not show this file being replaced. Expand Oh yes I’d say it’s possible. I had almost every single mod or at least very similar ones to the problematic mods listed in this thread. I’d also like to contribute Munitions to the list of issue causers because that was a bad one for me. But I also had Whyem’s DLC on this save (uncompressed obviously) as well as a bunch of other weapon .ytd’s and Arthur/John .ytd’s. That’s essentially what I was asking, whether or not a “bricked“ save could potentially be behind my train spawning issues. Or rather how likely it is to be the true culprit. Because I also don’t fully understand the details of “spawn priority.” Basically I’m trying to deduce the likelihood that I still just simply have too much stress on the engine, or if I have found a pretty solid mod list to work with and it’s just the fact that my save is all gunked up with a bunch of poorly optimized mod “residue” for lack of a better word. Also, I’m in chapter 3 if that helps at all. I’ve played a little since I made this post and when I was having the issue (I still am) I had the tobacco burning mission, the Braithwaite horses mission, and the Trelawney bounty hunter mission on my map. Dunno if any of those eff around with train spawns. Thanks for the reply my friend! also: the pc I’m playing on isn’t low end but it is a laptop. I’m definitely not on an ultra fast crazy machine. I believe it’s a 3070 mobile (duh) and an intel i9 something something. It’s not terrible or anything, I bought it in 2021 for around $1800. I know, I know I should have built a pc for that much lol. I have pretty much always kept it locked to 60fps Ultra at 1080p (max screen resolution). I basically just scrapped my whole install and started over from scratch and completely excluded any online content and streaming/replacing mods with a ton of .ytd's and it seems to be totally fine now. I'll post a list of what I have installed right now. I haven't done extensive testing so I don't want anyone to take this as a "it definitely works with no issues" but 8 hours of fresh gameplay starting from a clean chapter 2 save and I haven't had any issues. I have chickens, "flamingos" (pink spoonbills lol xD), carriages with passengers and of course trolleys and trains both with multiple peds on board. Quote

h4kkz 1 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) i recently noticed this issue on my end, it's my first playthrough and i'm doing my testing in chapter 6 right before the conclusion, i had quite a light modlist but didn't get anymore trains so i looked up if that was something known so i landed here. now after a lot of testing i stumbled upon something odd, i played the majority of my playthrough with DX12 since it weirdly enough gave me 20+ more average fps for some weird reason which worked fine with the light mod load i had for the most part. i did a bunch of my testing WITH the mods i had installed by just switching to vulkan, which immediately improved the spawn issues at least in the trams, i averaged 7-8/10 trams with passengers. then i switched back to DX12 but removed the dinput8.dll and ScriptHookRDR2.dll to see how the spawns are with a vanilla DX12 game and i could not for the life of me get a single passenger to spawn in trams in multiple attempts. which might well be the reason why i get an average 20+ fps more on DX12 if it can't deal with the low prio peds at all. to my specs, 3440x1440, Hardware Unboxed Optimised settings, RTX 3080 10gb, i7 11700k, 32gb Ram maybe someone else can test this as well to verify it, i'll still continue my own testing as well. edit: one day later, same savegame, back to dx12, still no mods and now i get passangers in trams again, i'm at a loss at this point. the only indication that something was off yesterday was that after a few more switches between vulkan and dx12 i got the "out of memory" issue before reaching the main menu consistently which could only be remedied by rebooting the pc. edit2: back on vulkan now, doing the chicken run, works fine with vanilla and without the vfs.asi aka no lml mods, as soon as i enable the vfs.asi again, no chickens and that with these few mods, no textures. Poorly formatted texture mods are not the sole culprit. Instead, this issue is widespread across many different kinds of mods and as of yet there hasn't been any rhyme or reason identified with what triggers it. The file replacement method is largely pointless and doesn't fix it, nor do edits to the gameconfig (I've even seen worsening spawns by installing custom gameconfig files or editing my own that were immediately alleviated by removing them). There hasn't been a single solution presented yet that solves the spawning. And for anyone who has been mislead by what has been incorrectly stated here by others before, train spawns are absolutely still one of the first things that is impacted in a broken game and they should be spawning pretty much a minimum of 8 out of 10 times for a modded game to even be considered near functional. I sound like a broken record repeating what I've said many times before, but I can't stress this enough. If you can come within range of any one of the train icons on the map (using the Railroad Engineer mod to monitor where they are) and not see a train spawn for several times in a row, then your spawns are still malfunctioning, PERIOD. I know this because I've spent more than a year testing it. I'm at the point where after vastly whittling down my mod list to a mere tiny fraction of what it was, and with no large texture mods anymore, I consistently get roseate spoonbills, peds on trollies, vanilla amounts of wildlife, chickens in Valentine... and yet train spawns, especially when in or near towns and settlements, are hit or miss and most of the time miss. Uninstall all mods and they immediately return. After more than a year testing and dealing with these issues, I've given up on modding RDR2 any further unless someone comes along that manages to find a real, proven and reliable solution instead of merely pseudoscience and snake oil. Expand Ok so the question is now if it’s really the amount of mods that’s effecting it and if there is a threshold or it’s just a matter of as soon as a mod is loaded in it effects the spawns but not in a way it is noticeable but tbh I have tested with around 8 mods and using railroad engineer they all spawn in once I approach edit: what you can try is loading up the mods one by one with railroad engineer until you reach the amount that the trains are starting to get effected then that last mod swap it for another if there are still issues remove that mod and check if it’s working again that might help us out Edited February 4 by KingEdward Quote
KingEdward 1 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) I have also notice another thing if you spawn peds for example there is a ceartin amount you can spawn after that you won’t be able to spawn anymore peds so maybe if some mod adds or modify the amount of peds could be objects as well it reaches the allowed limit. like the reason people might suspect textures mod is say you made a texture but didn’t compress it the way the original one was it might count that as a new ped/object Edited February 4 by KingEdward Quote
KingEdward 1 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Ok guys I think I managed to figure it out I’m not using any mods for this except railroad manager and rampage. so if you spawn around 100 or so peds the chickens in valentine trolleys and such will all be empty trains still kinda spawn but most if not all are empty reason for that is if you spawn those peds the game can’t remove them unless you reload the game even then if you look at the ped database those peds you spawned are still listed unless you restart the game. so what could be happening say a mod like whyem has around 100+ texture files the game might be viewing those as “peds” or objects that it can’t delete so it can’t spawn other peds instead heck it might view any mod or file change as a ped Quote
KingEdward 1 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) In the case of whyem for example if you just install the mod and not view or get any of the clothes the game will be fine it’s only when you view or buy them as in make the game load the textures it’s then where for me the chickens and peds on trolly disappear . even then I had to view and buy around 100+ items for the spawns to start getting effected Edited February 4 by KingEdward Quote
KingEdward 1 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) Did another test and just viewing the items wouldn’t cause a problem it’s just buying them cause the game dosent really delete them if you buy them edit: quick workaround if for example you have spawning issues and don’t see chickens or trolleys are empty open the rampage menu go to world and “clear area” and watch them spawn again Edited February 4 by KingEdward Quote
Skinnypotbelly 4 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) Don't know if anyone is interested in this but I've found a few ASI mods that kill my train spawns/trolley spawns. Proning, Quick Draw (by rejuvenate7), Hunting Camp, fireside reactions and StashThatLantern have a negative effect. I test by loading into an early morning valentine save that has a scripted train spawn. Those ASI mods either make the train not spawn or passengers not load on the trains. I then fast travel to St. Denis to check the trolleys. Those ASI mods make the trolleys not spawn passengers. I have a pretty heavily modded game. Over 60 ASI mods. Most of my horses have replacement textures and most weapons have been changed. All textures have been compressed to 256 and 512. And I use replacement vs streaming when possible. I've noticed that weapon mods that replace heavily used guns tend to effect spawns more. I leave cattleman revolvers, carbines and lancaster repeaters alone. Skinnypotbelly 4 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 LML mods: Springfield Carbine, Merwin and Hulbert Revolver, Remington 1858, Winchester Model 1895, Remington Model 95, M1879 Reichsrevolver, Colt Model 1911, Luger P08, Colt Python, Remington Autoloading, Sharps Rifle, Dual Wield Unique Weapons, Fastest Gun In the West, 357 High Roller, Arthur's Navy Revolver, The Generals Saber Gold and Silver, Distinct Gunsmiths, Sheriff Dialogue, Gun Metal Rework, Just Use the Cross Already, Horse Speed Variety, Ambient KKK, Ambient Cowgirls, Female Law, Basic Needs, Saddle Fixes, Defenestration, Bar Brawls, Hunting Rebalance, WeaponAudios, Dueling Redone, Roleplayer's Dream, Tuberculosis Tonic, A.R.E.P, Rededrunks' Realistic Law Dispatch Response and Ultimate Combat Overhaul, Headbleed, Whyem's Bloodlust and Particles, Obtainable bounty Posters, Online animals (deers, bears, etc), Animation Fixes, Dynamic Seasons, LITE Multiplayer Asset Enabler, Visual Redemption, . I use Unknown Error Fix but don't know if that makes any difference. Also made a mod (using assets from other mods) to replace the volcanic with the Navy revolver. My Horse texture replacements are a mix and match of different modders. For mods that add PEDS, I pared them down to minimal ones that I can replace and not stream. Too many peds causes spawn issues. All ytd files have been compressed to 256 and 512. All the metapeds.ymt, weapons.ymt, etc have merges the best I can. 1 Quote
