joebeefhash 7
So, my game had been constantly crashing on and off and I just could not figure it out. UNTIL I read about the memory leak issue that Red Dead sometimes has. I now know it's 100% a real thing because I've experienced it and I've also fixed the issue. I have Aida 64, a sensor panel which allows me to monitor various things while I'm gaming such as FPS, CPU & GPU Temps, Usage, RAM Usage, Network Signal, etc, etc, etc. So I noticed my RAM usage was always really high and this lead me to search about RAM issues online. I came across this thread on Steam > https://steamcommunity.com/app/1174180/discussions/0/1735507550908212577/ He mentioned that he was doing good on Vulkan, decided to switch to Direct X 12 and that's when he started to notice 20GB of RAM USAGE. Which is A LOT lol. It would keep going up until it crashed the game. It's a memory leak. He said deleting his config file and switching back to Vulkan fixed it. I'm here to tell you that switching to Vulkan has fixed my game. I literally for the first time ever, while playing the game, watched my RAM decrease. It only went down 1% but that HAS NEVER HAPPENED. It always steadily goes up. Now it's finally stuck around 62%. I only have 16 GB of RAM mind you so that's why it's so high. But still, the game is now running in the background while I type this message at 62 %. ALSO!! PLEASE IF YOU ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE, DO NOT DELETE YOUR CONFIG FILE TO START WITH. TRY SIMPLY SWITCHING YOUR API TO VULKAN. YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART YOUR GAME. I did this and it worked. It saved me the headache of having to go through and change all my settings. I would only try deleting the config file as a last ditch effort.
joebeefhash 7
RAM USAGE > 52% > All time low for RDR2 > That's after closing browser and just gaming. It was at 62% because I had my browser open. It will fluctuate based on gameplay but on Direct X 12 it was always 62% and never a drop lower. Even after decreasing PEDs, Vehicles, Pickups, Etc. I don't have to do any of that now and it's simply by switching to Vulkan instead of Direct X 12.

My only problem with this my friend is that my Vulkan doesn't work with the ability of the eyes of death to see critical regions in the peds, simply in Vulkan it doesn't show the red regions that are fatal in the peds, only in direct x12 it does, but I understand, unfortunately I'm going to switch to Vulkan again then
