Pimp My Horse 0.4.1

Change saddles and components on your horse!
   (1 review)

3 Screenshots

Pimp My Horse is a mod for Red Dead Redemption II that lets you personalize your horse with many different components as well as save and load your creations.

If upgrading from a previous version, always use the new pimpmyhorse.ini file.

Features

  • Change all components for your horse from saddles to stirrups
  • Save your horse's current outfit
  • Quickly load saved outfits
  • Reset all your components
  • Some convenience functions such as bonding with your horse, changing its gender, making it invincible etc.

Controls

Press F3 to open/close the menu (key can be changed in settings):

  • Up/Down to navigate the menu vertically.
  • Left/Right to change item options.
  • Enter to select.
  • Backspace to go back.

Installation
All you need to do is drag the files into your game root folder - the one where RDR 2 is installed.

  • Pimp My Horse is loaded from the same folder and shares many of the same files as Lenny's Simple Trainer but works without it.
  • When the game launches, you should hear a few beeping sounds, indicating that the mod is loaded.
  • RDR Online is not supported for modding.  Don't attempt to play Online with this mod.  Remove all files from your game folder before playing Online.

Configuration
Open the pimpmyhorse.ini file (found in your game folder) in a text editor to configure the mod where you can:

  • Change the names of categories.
  • Name your favourite clothing items to make finding them again easier.
  • Manually edit/manage your saved outfits (although you can do this in the menu).

We are working on a Wiki page to document all of the clothing items.

To load any changes to the pimpmyhorse.ini file, use the "Reload Settings" feature in the menu.

Please don't upload or redistribute this mod, link here instead so that everyone has the most up to date version.

Thanks to @Sniper296 for the logo!

Thanks for this great mod !

Do you think it will be possible in the future to edit horse stats or to add stable slots ?

Equine assistance(horse herb collecting skill) would be a nice feature for the single player. It's really annoying to dismount everytime you see an interesting herb...

I wonder if it would be possible to make it so you can bond and saddle a mule or donkey by using a mod

Is it possible to change the stats of the horses, like its speed and acceleration? like make a shire have the same stats as an Arabian where it runs just as fast as it ?

Been a while since I spawned in a horse but yes, I believe it will spawn naked (not literally). Then you need to assign a sadle from the menu mate!

    Hope it helps! @TheAlmightyZugs

Thanks for your response! How does one load an outfit they've created after reloading the game? I'm seeing the save option but no load option.

Considering you've saved an outfit for your horse, it should be within the same menu. Think it's under "saved outfits". It's all in the Pimp my Horse menu!

I'll give it a looksee. Thanks!

One more quick question (sorry to be annoying you), I have a saddle and a bunch of stuff on this horse I have, but I am not able to use the Rifle/Shotgun areas at the bottom and left of the Weapon wheel. Is this normal or did I mess something up?

That doesn't sound normal at all.. Should be something on your side, you can always make a post on it.

Any chance of being able to get the IDs for the new manes and such that came in the online update?

i don't know if you guys are still working on this or anything, but i can load the mod up just fine (the menus pop up and whatnot), but when i press enter, nothing changes. i tried changing my saddle.. nothing. then i tried changing the stirrups.. nothing happened either. could it be some other mod i have is conflicting with it? the only other ones i have are the simple needs, ped damage overhaul, and the horse exhaustion one. could the horse one be conflicting with it, somehow or am i just dumb??

Can you change the horse's outfit without getting on a horse? Also the problem is that every time in cut scene, it disappears. Thanks very much for your work.

I would like to ask if there is any possibility to rename horse components by color at least?
Because the list in my game looks like:
    Manes:
    None
    Braid
    Braid
    Braid
    ...
    Braid

    Thanks 🙂

Hello, loving this mod so far. Is there any chance that a pure white tail (such as The Count's tail) could be added? It's the only thing I've felt is missing.

I have issues with this mod. It works fine and all, but when i try to load a save after i've been killed or whatever, it loads to the point where the loading screen is over and about to get in the game, but the screen turns black, The ambient sounds are there though, but can't do anything except ctrl alt del.

L.E. Yeah, looks like the problem was on my side. I created a back-up folder generically named "New Folder" within the main directory of the game where i dumped some other .asi and stuff... I didn't know that would create issues. I guess the scriphook scanned that folder as well and some things clashed.

Yes, i would also like to see more mane/tail color options. Like a black fox trotter with the white mane and tail from the fox trotter dapple pinto, since that lvl of white you don't find in the stables.
