RDR 2 Outfit Changer 0.5.1

Change player clothes and make custom outfits!
   (16 reviews)

Message added by LMS

Please note that you need to use the latest Lenny's Simple Trainer update (version 1.3 or greater) to use multiplayer models properly.

11 Screenshots

We are proud to release our latest modification for Red Dead Redemption 2: An outfit changer! Featuring all of the more than 1300 single player clothing items (and in version 0.2 all multiplayer components!), Arthur has never looked more unique. A word of caution: The component system in RDR2 is very powerful and even many parts of your skin are components which you might need to toggle to make body parts (re)appear! Please read the readme.txt file for more information on how the system works.

Features

  • Change clothing items in over 40 categories with over 10000 total variations!
  • Save your current outfit
  • Quickly equip saved outfits
  • Reset all your components
  • Change Ped Skin (see readme)
  •  Enable Multiplayer Assets (try changing your model to mp_male or mp_female using our trainer to access them in all your glory)
  • New! Change beard and hair length, untuck shirts and much more!
  • New! Customize menu key

Controls

Press F2 to open/close the Outfit Changer menu:

  • Up/Down to navigate the menu vertically.
  • Left/Right to change item options.
  • Enter to select.
  • Backspace to go back.

Installation
All you need to do is drag the files into your game root folder - the one where RDR 2 is installed.

  • The Outfit Changer is loaded from the same folder and shares many of the same files as Lenny's Simple Trainer but works without it.
  • When the game launches, you should hear a few beeping sounds, indicating that the mod is loaded.
  • RDR Online is not supported for modding.  Don't attempt to play Online with this mod.  Remove all files from your game folder before playing Online.

Configuration
Open the outfitchanger.ini file (found in your game folder) in a text editor to configure the Outfit Changer where you can:

  • Change the names of categories.
  • Name your favourite clothing items to make finding them again easier.
  • Manually edit/manage your saved outfits (although you can do this in the menu).

We are working on a Wiki page to document all of the clothing items.

To load any changes to the outfitchanger.ini file, use the "Reload Settings" feature in the menu.

Please don't upload or redistribute this mod, link here instead so that everyone has the most up to date version.

Please note that you are not permitted to sell configuration files for this mod. This mod is free and so should be your files!

Makeup i think is missing from the female options, would advise creating a female and saving it in the saved presets

in the next update just so we know what our potential can reach♥

Not sure if it's just me but I keep trying to save outfits, but none of them actually save? Any suggestions?

I don't think those are part of the component system so I cannot add them just yet. But we will keep digging!

It could be an issue with file permissions as it writes to the ini in the game folder. Make sure it can be changed.

Is it possible to somehow save a random pedestrian's hat?

If you equip and save the outfit, it will be there.

Thanks LMS, you were right. Messed with some permissions and everything is good. Appreciate it!

Is there anyway for the settings to stop resetting during the start of a cutscene? I set my outfit combo but when the cutscene starts a bunch of the items reset to their default. If I change them during the cutscene they reset when it's finished also. It is a great mod just wish this feature was resolved.

Just echoing this.  Loving all the work that's gone into this mod, I hope this gets resolved and then it'll be practically perfect 😄

the bigger problem with this also is that if you save the game normally and load it the outfit is reset to which you had before.

This a great mod, but whenever I save an outfit for Arthur, the beard and hair always changes. Whenever I go to the barber, my outfit resets to what I was wearing before. Is there a way to save the outfit without it also saving the hair and beard? I'm assuming that's what's happening.

Created an account just to post this 😊

First of all, amazing mod, this and the Lenny's Simple Trainer as well. Has everything I could want except all weapon spawns, but that's a little thing.

To all the people having problems saving outfits!
I found a fix that works for me anyways. Figured I post it here in case it helps other people out 👍
You have to give the system permission to write to the "outfitchanger.ini" file - not just un-ticking "read-only"!

Step 1. Navigate to the outfit file in your Red Dead Redemption 2 install folder (Usually like "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2" for the Rockstar Launcher Version) and right click "outfitchanger.ini", and select "Properties"

Step 2. Click the "Security" tab and then click "Edit" (Will need Administrator account or password to do this)

Step 3. Click each of your "Groups and User names" and allow "Full control" for each. Make sure to hit "Apply", not "OK", after checking the Full control box for each group and username.

Note: Probably only changing one of these is necessary, but since it's not a system or security critical file, it should be fine to enable all permissions for all groups and user names. If you want to try them one at a time, I would suggest "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" or "Users" groups first cause that makes the most sense but idk.

That should hopefully fix it. Did for me anyways, so here's to hoping it helps someone else. Good luck!

I was wondering if in the future there'd be an option to port over one's MP character into singleplayer and use it there. I'd love to be able to use my ugly as shit character in story mode. If that isn't possible, how about being able to customize the faces of the mp models with a similar level of detail as found in the online character creator?

Okay so I have a burning question (eh I just need an answer really is all), I have the most up to date version of the outfit changer mod installed, and that means all the files, though none of the new options are showing up such as hair and beard length and I also can't see how you're supposed to be able to change the fact that all trousers are tucked and all shirts are buttoned up and rolled down. I also don't see how you add options to the outfit changer ini, I know how to for the lenny trainer but not this, so I would greatly appreciate an answer or some kinda walkthrough on how to do it for outfit changer

No, it does not work. It can't save pedestrian's hats.
