Wild West Callouts 0.3.3

Deputy, you've got work to do! These callouts will make you feel like a true lawman in the Wild West
   (0 reviews)

2 Screenshots

You've caught so many crooks, the cells are overflowing! Help make some room by moving some prisoners to other towns!

This pack adds two callouts:

  • Some good-for-nothin' crook is holdin' up the local store, go get the bastard!
  • The local authorities need to transport some scumbags to another town, help them out!

Installation is simple: Simply extract the rdrfr folder within the archive to your Red Dead Redemption 2 root folder.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 root folder can be found by following these steps:
    1) Open Rockstar Games Launcher
    2) Select the "SETTINGS" tab
    3) Select Red Dead Redemption 2 under "My installed games"
    4) Next to "View installation folder," click "OPEN"

The end result will have WildWestCallouts.dll and WildWestCallouts.pdb in "Red Dead Redemption 2/rdrfr/plugins"
A configuration file will be created upon first load in the same location.

Please leave any suggestions or bug reports in the comments, thanks! Please include a log with crash reports.

Sidenote: In my testing, occasionally the 'prisoners' fail to spawn properly in Valentine. If this happens, RDRFR may crash. I'm not sure what the issue is.

Then post your dlls/addons/whatever kind of mod this is when RDRFR is finished. This is just baiting people to buy the stupid patreon. Hope you get rewarded for this.

    Good work anyway i think.

I'm in no way affiliated with the Patreon program. I make nothing by releasing this. It's uploaded here to give people who do have access to RDRFR a central place to download it, and as a way to show those who don't have access what can be done with the mod. If you don't like it, don't look at it.

Testing this the last few hours, and every time I try to arrest the holdup suspect they run away. Your character is stuck in the walking animation to arrest them, but they run away too fast to catch up.

Tried it several more times, arrest is totally broken on the store holdup.

I'm pretty sure this is because you are arresting them before you get close enough to trigger their acknowledgement. It's a relatively low distance since every store is different and I'd rather not have the guy react while you are still outside with some stores. If he is still aiming at the shopkeeper when you try to arrest, the criminal hasn't acknowledged you yet.

I'm adding a check to not have him react if you are in the progress of arresting him, but I would recommend getting close enough to trigger his acknowledgement for the full experience with 3 different outcomes.

I'll also increase the distance slightly so you don't have to be right up on him.

Okay the new update works great, no crashes and I made my first arrest of the store gunman. I understand what you meant now by the acknowledgement. Before when you tried to disarm them, they would drop the gun in a strange way before you got up to them. Now its realistic and they drop the weapon at gunpoint while hands in the air, and the arrest is a satisfying take-down/hogtie. Thanks for putting work into this, this is going to be a great mod with the help of great plugins/call outs like this.

EDIT: They are still running away during arrests, and dropping weapons before you can disarm them which bugs out the arrest script.

Ok I actually just tried to arrest a random person and he did the same trying to walk away thing so I think it's either Lenny's trainer or just this test build doing that.

OK so last arrest went like this, I hit E for disarm, The ped dropped the weapon as I approached and that worked fine, but I had the gun barrel pretty much in her chest when the arrest bug happened. So I'm not sure about how much distance there should be between you and the ped.

Was this on build #13 or #14?

Where do you place this file? In the C#Plugins folder or the Red Dead Redemption 2 folder?

Store holdup callout is completely broken. I was in Saint Denis and got a Holdup callout and I disarmed the robber and then arrested them. When I arrested them, the criminal just ran away with my character slowly walking after them with no way to move.

Drag the entire rdrfr folder from Wild West Callouts and drop it into your main directory. The end result should have WildWestCallouts.dll & WildWestCallouts.pdb in a plugins folder.

The stolen horse callout breaks and when people try to run from you after an attempted arrest your ped just keeps walking. The store robbery callout needs more locations added but it works fine except when the robber try's to run from you then the eternal walking begins.

Make sure you installed 0.3.2 and not 0.3. I'll be removing 0.3 from the download once I'm home, it was only intended for anyone using an outdated internal RDRFR build. If the person running while you are arresting is happening on 0.3.2 a video would be helpful to see exactly how you approach the callout.

The stolen horse callout was not made by me.

Also, if you have any suggestions for locations please post them here. A screenshot on the map or in-game coordinates would be helpful as well.

The areas boxed in red are possible hold up locations in Annesberg, Blackwater, Tumbleweed, Strawberry, Saint Denis, and Valentine. The big red circles in Annesberg and Valentine are large area robbery's. For example, the Annesberg mine is being robbed by a large gang or the Valentine fair is being robbed stuff like that. I forgot about Rhodes and Armadillo. Some callout suggestions that I have are in large cities or towns (SD, Val, BW) kids stealing stuff or getting into trouble and you can either bring them home or to the jail house. No arresting they just walk with you. Another idea is a fist fight in the main streets of towns or any other locations. Last callout is a black market deal maybe something involving moonshine or stolen weapons, possibly even slaves as even though slavery was ban illegal slave rings still happened.

Yeah mate I also get the robber running/walking away while I try to arrest them. I approach the Valentine store with my gun aimed, walk in and disarm the crook. Once that's done I hold to arrest them, that's when they decide to take off. You can't do anything in the game, no actions work. So your character is dead set to arrest the crook. The only way to fix it is to reload all plugins or restart the game.

I can probably get a video of it soon if someone else doesn't before me.. Otherwise I loved the transport one, really makes it feel a little more alive. GG!
