[Unofficial] Troubleshooting Guide For Non-Working Mods
selfmade808 replied to WesternGamer's topic in RDR2 Mods Discussion
So i can use version.dll as a full replacement to dinput? I don't use any mods requiring online assets but I have this annoying glitch where I can't donate to beggars, wondering if maybe that would fix it? -

ped damage overhaul in its install requirements says u need to have Alexander Blade's Scripthook AND dinput8.dll (the asi.loader) that comes with that, same for InstantTravel probably some others, also where is ur vfs.asi? it comes with LML, same as the Nlog.dll. are these not mandatory? Also why is the above comment saying the asi loader should not be beeping? It says on the main page of the mod "Put version.dll in your game root folder. When the game launches, you should hear a few beeping sounds indicating that it got loaded." -

Hey idk if you figured this out already but I'm almost positive the issue is related with scripthook and not a conflict of 2 mods. The only ways to fix it vanilla wise is to sleep, die, get arrested, or exit game and reload. Alternatively if you use Rampage Trainer, theres an option in there designed specifically for this bug called "Fix mission markers" or something along those lines hope that helps -
Lately I've been having really bad issues with texture loading in my game. Every time I turn my head, textures will be super super muddy and smaller objects wont even load in for a solid couple seconds, and tons of vegetation pop in. I'm not having any bad performance issues, the fps is normal and the game's not stuttering, but the textures are loading abnormally slowly. This problems started only recently after installing a bunch more texture files into the stream folder, textures that replace horse coats(alot), upscaled gang textures, clothing edits, plus I already have whyems dlc installed which has its own stream folder as well, idk if thats adding to it. But I went and looked at the size of the stream folder and it's at 2.1gb. I've been playing other games since it started happening, so I'll have to do more troubleshooting eventually but I just wanted to see if anyone else was having this issue as well. If you're having this issue what is the size of your stream folder? and also is there anyone with really large stream folders similar to mine (like 1.5gb+) who aren't having this issue as well? thanks

The smoking mod everyone's been asking for since release. But the good version. One that allows u to walk around and smoke as long as u want, without locking ur character like playing the scenario through a trainer or using the popular smoke mod on the nexus

I'm using a mod called AMJM Transport and whenever I use the Hired Gun feature it automatically kills the hired gun once they spawn in. As soon as they spawn and I exit the menu they fall to the ground and bleed out. It works fine without PDO. Any idea how I could get it to work with this mod? Idk if this helps in anyway but I noticed I can still spawn in camp members just fine, just not non unique npc's, they bleed out every time.

I like most of the Overhaul, some things are a little too dramatic, the biggest being headshots for me.. Getting shot in the arm or leg makes sense to reach to grab that spot. I feel like ideally you'd want emphasis on the loss of control of motor functions and have a very heavy, gravity driven response with their bodies. With the mod they stumble for a second and then reach up with their hand to grab their head, then kinda move around on the ground a bit. I feel like the current headshot reaction would be really good for a mouth shot or a neck shot or something, there's just too much "life" in the character after in my personal opinion. Either way, this is the best overhaul I've found hands down. My opinions above are just personal preference changes and I hope I didn't come off as talking down on this mod because I really am not. This overhaul does the most right by far out of any I've tried and I'm going to be using it regardless, just wanted to make a suggestion 🙂 -
This is my first modded playthrough, been having a lot of fun. I think it's cool that you can change the character scale in this game to make yourself bigger, was wondering if there was a way to change the integer scaling when using this. The way it is now, the scaling bumps up in sets of 0.25 so 1-1.25-1.50 etc.. I want to be able to increase the scale of my character slower for a more realistic bigger character. 1.25 is already ridiculously huge, I want to be able to see what 1.02-1.05 or would look like. Is there any way for me to do that with this trainer? If not, I'd love to know if there is another way to achieve this, any help would be greatly appreciated ! 🙂
