About This File

This mod makes the nights darker and more realistic. It also gets rid of the vignette effect.

There are 3 files.

Darker = Very dark (Like the screenshots)

Light = Slightly brighter

Lighter = Even more bright but still much darker than vanilla

Install:

Extract and place the 'dark_nights' folder into 'lml' folder.

Why is your mod showing up in Lenny's Mod Manager as "Gun_Metal_Rework"? qXwHEE3.png

Better but could do with a little bit lighter, in certain missions it's still hard to see anything and in certain locationss it is a bit too dark still to see anything, so if you could make one that is even a little lighter then this.

is there anyway you can also included the no vignettes from

he included more no vignettes but since both use the same files I was hoping they could be combined, i used the Dark Nights Light version

On the "light" setting for this mod, when nearing or exiting the camp the lighting suddenly changes, going from light to dark and vice versa. I have no idea if this is a problem with the mod itself, but it seems persistent for all three of the versions, atleast for me.

Just what I needed. I have been wanting something like this for a long time.

Is there any chance you could make the 'minimum' light brighter in the lighter version? I find the moonlight amount is good but it's pitch black in forests atm. Of course this is just personal preference, but great mod!

Is there any reason why the mod isn't working? noticed no change in my night settings after I tried re-installing

Hey @Alsharad !, first of all thanks for the mod! its amazing.

I have one question, it seems that removing vignette effect makes the days brighter, is there anyway to disable only that function? thanks!

Here you have two photos, first one with the mod, the second one without it

The No Vignette mod contains (edits) many of the same files as this mod, so the changes are being overwritten.

If anybody is still interested, you can make the nights lighter than Alsharad made with these three variants. In the dark nights folder open visualsettings.dat (notepad) and change the line 56 "sky.MoonIntensity". Darker is 0.1, Light is 0.2 and Lighter is 0.5. Personally I think all of them are too dark so i changed mine to 1.6, darker than vanilla but not pitch black, allot depends on your brightness setting as well...

installing this crashed my RD2 and now I can't play anymore because it crashes right when it finishes loading my save file. Any way to uninstall this completely? I've tried deleting the folder from my LML folder but it is ingrained in my game now even after deleting the mod.

It works great, but I wish there was a version that keep the vignette effect, is that possible?

    Hello!
First, thanks for the mod as it is very good.
But I have a problem that I want to expose (I don't know if it happens to anyone else): the transition to night is very abrupt; from one second to another it goes from having clarity and being everything visible to seeing almost nothing. Does anyone have this problem?
I use the mod in the darkest version.
    Thanks for the help, regards.
