RDR 2 Asi Loader 0.2.2

Load ASI files and custom code into the game.
   (5 reviews)

1 Screenshot

A simple ASI Loader for Red Dead Redemption 2 to easily load your custom code into the game.

Files are loaded after Arxan has finished its decryption stage so you can search for your favorite patterns right away!

Installation

Put version.dll in your game root folder. When the game launches, you should hear a few beeping sounds indicating that it got loaded.

Not supported for RDR Online.  Remove the ASI Loader file (version.dll) before playing Online.

Native fixes (build 1436)

Game build 1436 on July 13 2021 removed a few natives used mostly for text rendering making any mod using those crash. The ASI Loader update 0.2 fixes that by re-implementing the following natives with their original hashes. You still need a script hook!

DISPLAY_TEXT
SET_TEXT_COLOR
SET_TEXT_CENTRE
SET_TEXT_SCALE
SET_TEXT_DROPSHADOW
TASK_EVERYONE_LEAVE_VEHICLE

Let me know if any of those do not work as expected. Thanks to fingaweg for their help.

@BobMaddock I assume that you fixed the issue yourself, but ab's scripthookrdr2 got updated so you should use ab's. The alternative on nexusmods has some issues with native caching and that was causing some issues with mods.

@PH4NT0M99 Make sure that you are using ab's scripthookrdr2. It got updated to work with the latest version. The script hook on nexusmods has some issues that breaks some mods.

Hi, could I receive some help? When I don't use ScriptHook and only version.dll, I hear the three beeps but then the game will go from "Loading" to "Quitting" (I'm using the Rockstar Launcher). If I just use ScriptHook, no mods from LML load.

@BlackAppaX The beeps are not coming from asi loader, it is coming from lst or outfit changer. Also don't remove the ScriptHook else asi mods wont work and can cause the game to crash. Make sure that you are using the latest version of rdr2 and that you are using the latest version of lml. Also use ab's ScriptHook. Make sure that you install lml and that ScriptHook is installed at the same time.

I thought they were coming from asi loader since I only hear something when I put version.dll in the folder. I had Scripthook and LML's latest version installed at the same time but I don't hear any beeping if I take out version.dll. These are all the files I have installed right now.

@BlackAppaX Try unblocking the files that you downloaded. It is in my troubleshooting guide under section 2.

If that does not fix the issue, remove NativeInterop.dll as it is known to cause RDR2 to crash.

I download version.dll for my already modded game with the latest ab scripthook the game doesn't load anymore, removing the version.dll makes the mods work but i need the version.dll for the online items rdoffline, removing dinput8.dll doesn't fix it

Hey, which dll does version.dll hook into/replace/whatever? i know that Scripthookrdr2.dll uses dinput8.dll. Does asi loader hook that too?

(Asking because on Linux I have to tell wine to not replace that dll)

version.dll is the replacement for dinput8.dll.

Hmm, yet it refuses to load, unlike scripthook... Does anyone have a solution to make lml work on linux?

commenting to lyk that i was having the same issues as op and deleting NativeInterop.dll fixed all my problems. Can now use Version.dll without beeping, and with mods loading correctly.

For some odd reason version.dll breaks beggars. I try giving money to them in saint Denis but Arthur just stands there and the animation cancels. I thought it was a mod problem but i Deleted everything but script hook and mod manager ,but it was still happening. I deleted version.dll and it magically was able to work.  I guess I can try clearing even mod manager/loader and script hook? that's all I have left to remove. I am using version 02_2, im gonna try version 02_1 and see if it does the same thing. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm getting FPS drop when doing interactions like horse hitch, chores or camping. If I removed the version.dll and only dinput8.dll it will just work fine.

For the life of me I can't get this damn thing to work.

I'm using the updated Scripthook, I removed the dinput whatever-the-hell-its-named dll, and put in the updated version.dll....but RDR2 still wont start. Cursor just gets the 'I'm thinking' wheel for 2 seconds and then nothing.

Not using a cracked version of the game, it's through Steam, fully updated, files validated, tried running the game direct from the .exe, as admin.

I've read through this entire comment section looking for a fix/advice.

Can someone please freakin' help? I just wanna be able to use WhyEm's compilation mod T_T

@yeeetz Downgrading the asi loader will just cause the game to crash.
